People

The church is not a building and it’s not a set of programmes and events. It’s a group of people- ordinary people who trust in Jesus to save them and want to live together with Him as their Lord.

This section isn’t a “Who’s Who” of the V.I.P.s at Grace Church, because every person is important. But it’s a way for you to see some of the leaders of the church, as well as hear from a few others, so you get to know us as a church.

Simon Dowdy

Minister

Simon was ordained in the Church of England in 1996 and served as a curate on the staff of Christ Church Beckenham until 2000. From then until 2005 he was associate vicar at St.Helen’s Bishopsgate in the City with responsibility for lunch time services and midweek bible study evenings. He has been leading Grace Church Dulwich since it started in 2005. He has also been Guild Vicar of St.Botolph’s Aldersgate (www.thealdersgatetalks.org) in the City since 2001 where he spends part of his time midweek. Simon is married with three children which precludes much free time, but enjoys swimming and exploring the Celtic fringes of the British Isles when possible.

Andy Meadows

Youth and Children’s Minister

Andy grew up in a Christian home and decided to commit his life to Jesus around the age of 15. He has been involved in youth and children’s work ever since leaving university and loves teaching the Bible to young people. He is married to Alice and is an admirer of all things East Anglian, including Norwich City F.C., Delia Smith and Alan Partridge, but is still excited to be living in Britain’s second best city.

Jenny Williams

Women's Worker

Jenny joined Grace Church Dulwich in 2016, having served in women’s ministry in Kent. Jenny became a Christian during childhood through hearing the good news of Jesus in her local church.  Over the years, Jenny has been amazed to see God changing lives as the bible is read, and Jesus made known, and so she is delighted to be opening the bible with women in Dulwich. In her spare time, Jenny loves to sing and play the piano, and to catch up with friends and family over good coffee.

Membership

You become a member of Grace Church by joining the Electoral Roll. It’s a way of saying that you are with us, as well as saying that you want us to be ‘with you’ in the sense of looking after you spiritually.  Of course everyone is welcome at Grace Church and membership doesn’t magically make you any more part of the family. What it does do is show a real commitment to the church long-term and a desire to be rooted in the church family here. One example of how this works is that anyone is welcome at our AGM but only members can vote.

To become a member, you need to have been coming to Grace Church Dulwich for at least 6 months and be a committed believer in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.  We ask all our members to sign our Statement of Faith.

Sunday Morning Service 10:30am
We meet at Rosendale Primary School, Dulwich SE21 8LR. We welcome all and have a full programme for children
